| About “WATANABE Akeo Music Foundation” and “Music Award” |

The WATANABE Akeo Music Foundation was set up on June 18, 1992 with the hope of actively passing down to future generations the tremendous achievements left behind by Japanese maestro of music conductionÑthe late WATANABE Akeo to the music culture in Japan, to contribute to the music world in this country. Based on the objectives of benefit trust, this charitable trust gives away the WATANABE Akeo Music Foundation Music Award & Special Award to outstanding conductors who can lead the music world in the next generation and those active in the world of orchestras, in the aim to contribute to the progress of music culture in Japan. |
